I've now had the pie four times from this location. Three of my coworkers are HUGE fans of it. I've had it enough times to form a solid opinion of the place. I love their unique offerings (I really like the greek pizza, and they are one of the few locations where you can actually order anchovies anymore, plus they offer smoked oysters, too!). The various combinations of toppings they offer on their pies are usually tasty combinations. My main problem is with the quality of the pizza itself. The crust just leaves a LOT to be desired. I can't ever eat more than three or four slices, because that crust just kills me. It's just not very flavorful. We ordered a 23" pizza a couple days ago, so it was wise to use a fork and knife to eat the pieces. It's telling when trying to cut through the crust with a plastic knife is a futile exercise. It was that tough. The texture is alright (besides the toughness). They manage to get it fairly crisp on the bottom, but it still could use some major improvements. Then you have the copious amounts of grease. Oh that grease! The quality of the mozzarella is also not that great. What ends up always happening is that I end up eating off the toppings from the last couple slices, and then experiencing a huge "gut bomb" several hours later as a result of the grease and subpar crust. You can do much better than The Pie Pizzeria--even in Utah.

Laziness drove us to The Pie tonight. We sought easy, comfortable, hassle free. I ordered a pizza and a salad. They gave me a to go cup so the little kid would have a lid. The salad came out with chipotle ranch dressing, and it was good. Everything was going so well ... until ... They called out the pizza was done, I went to fetch it, and I was given a monstrosity! If Frankenstein made a pizza, it would be this. It was like there was an explosion in the kitchen, and people were buried in the topping rubble. I asked what had happened, and the nice employee made a convincing show that nothing was amiss. I didn't believe him, and here's why: * I think there was a whole wheel of gooey melted cheese on that thing. * Pepperoni, salami, and sausage were piled two inches deep. * The sausage was "Italian style", which is to say "made from Italians" I interrogated a bus boy, but he just tried to tell me that the pizza looked okay to, but they'd make me a new one, and please stop hitting him, etc. He must have been trained against my techniques. Next time I'll take in a commando squad ... a very hungry squad.

I am an unabashed and unashamed lover of The Pie! Though nothing ever quite measures up to the cool quality of the original "down in the dungeon" Pie, this location is not without its own charm. There is a patio, which is always a plus. They have an upstairs and there is always ample room for our party, regardless of size. The beer is ice-cold and the pizza, salads, zappis and pull-aparts are every bit as good as the original. I recommend staying away from the ginormo-pizza as it gets soggy/doughy/greasy in the middle and over-done on the edges. The 14 and 16 inch pizzas always come out to cheesy, gooey, crispy perfection. Fresh, high-quality ingredients make great pizzas and that's what you get at The Pie.

It's good pizza. I always order it with lite cheese, extra thick crust and extra well done on the crust. Out of all of their restaurants, this one is the nicest. It's very clean, a little newer, and much more comfortable to sit for a long time then the rest of their places.

Affordable and delicious, accept no imitations. My favorite pizza when I'm in SLC. Try the local microbrews and the Cheese Pull-a-Part!

  • Deano G.

The pizza is heavy and overpriced.... But the pull-aparts are awesome. I think it's overpriced and there si better pizza out there, but when the masses want pizza from the Pie, they get it.

We ordered pizza there the other night. The wait was exceptional. 20-30 minutes so make sure you have something to do within that time. But once we picked up the pizza it was SO good. One of the best pizzas I've ever had! The cheese was chewy. They put very little sauce on (which is the way I like it) and the crust was soft and the cheese bread sticks were also REALLY good. Recommended! (We got a half cheese half pepperoni pizza)

The Pie has a great atmosphere. My favorite location in in SLC, but usually go to this one in South Jordan because it's closer to where I live. The third location, in Midvale, is pretty good but I usually choose not to go there. My staple pizza is pineapple and the Pie always makes it well. There's always a lot of seating at this location (inside and outside) and the pies usually take around 25 minutes depending on the time of day. The pies are big and filling, usually always take home leftovers. Their pull aparts are delicious - cooked fast and make a great appetizer.

I really like this location of the Pie. They still have the same great food and live music on Monday nights. The nice thing is that this location has better parking (always free), more seating, and the lighting isn't so dark that you can't see your food. The crust is thick and delicious, a small pizza is more than enough for two people. The chicken bacon pizza is amazing!! The garlic ranch sauce is so good. Their cal zones or "zappos" are really great as well. I've had their pepperoni pizza as well, and it is pretty good, but not amazing. I would advise sticking to their specialty pizzas. Their pull-a-parts are also really good, cheese or pizza and they come with a big thing of ranch and marinara, their ranch is delicous!!

Ordered a 16" chicken ranch pizza and some cinn-a-parts. It didn't take long for our order and it was probably the cheesiest pizza I've ever had. 5 stars because I love cheese and the pizza was really good! I shouldve got a slice of different kinds because I would love to try their other pizzas!

The food is decent but the service, at least tonight is horrible. I am typing this as I wait for our food to show a that we ordered over an hour ago. Some of us got our pizzas timely and others got desserts first. The manager just told I could wait another 5 mins for our get our money back on the undelivered food. I'm already in to this an hour and ten minutes so I guess I will wait it out although I shouldn't. It wouldn't have been a big deal if we weren't told 5 more minutes 35 minutes in to it. Well at least we have children to entertain while we wait. The manager says the delays aren't her fault because "there were a lot of orders tonight." I believe they hired her from Comcast customer service because place was nearly empty. Go to pie five in the same parking lot save your time and your money, heck we would've been happier picking a Dijourno from Walmart.

We order delivery from The Pie every so often. I used to love it, but the last few times the pizza has been too greasy. Doubt I'll order again for a while.

  • Doug D.

Honestly, this is the best pizza in Utah, period. Best cheese, best tasting crust, best sauce (not sweet, thank god!), ridiculous amounts of toppings. The zappis (calzones) are amazing too. It's usually busy, so expect a wait. If you order a zappi, expect a longer wait, they take quite a while to cook.

  • M O.

Best pizza I've had in SLC valley. Add cooked tomatoes for that extra flavor. I wish it was a little less pricey but its probably better for may waist line that its not. Still worth it

  • Lanie D.

Honestly the worst pizza I've ever had. The pepperoni was under the cheese! What kind of pizza place puts the pepperoni under the cheese? It was horrible. The pepperoni did not cook properly because it was under the cheese. The crust was under cooked and super greasy, and the toppings did not seem fresh. We also ordered pull apart cheesy bread, it was nothing special.

The biggest problem with this place is the lack of wait staff. The no waiter system works at the original U of U location because the place is so small. But it doesn't work here because the place is big and on two different floors. If you are in a large group upstairs this is a big inconvenience. Everything must be ordered downstairs and paid for immediately. After ordering you have to wait and carry the food/beverage yourself upstairs to your table. You can not run a tab for a table like most restaurants. Think McDonald's service at a premium price. Problems this causes which are unique to this set-up. 1. If you arrive early and you want to have a beer while waiting for the rest of your party you can't do it. Because a waiter doesn't run a tab you can't get a beer before you order and pay for your food. VERY INCONVENIENT! GET WAITERS WITH TABLE TABS UPSTAIRS! 2. If you have kids and they want to get a drink you have to send them downstairs with cash because they have to pay for it at the time. VERY INCONVENIENT! RUN WAITERS WITH TABLE TABS UPSTAIRS! 3. Once everyone in your party does show up and you have decided on your food and drink then EVERYONE has to go downstairs to order, pay and carry the beers. WHY??!! Because the lack of a waiter means that everyone has to go to the cashier and produce their ID as per Utah law to get a glass of beer. VERY INCONVENIENT! RUN WAITERS WITH TABLE TABS UPSTAIRS! The waiter can check everyone's ID at the table. 4. The cashier/take out/food pick-up/beer area is very confusing and disorganized. VERY INCONVENIENT! RUN WAITERS WITH TABLE TABS UPSTAIRS! I'm sure that this place is great for non-drinking family's and teenagers that don't mind ordering a pizza or two and carrying themselves to a table upstairs, but for groups that like a beer and a waiter and don't mind paying for a little service and the convenience of a tab it's not worth the effort. Like I said it works in the small U of U location but at the larger South Jordan location it's a hassle. We aren't in college any more.

I haven't eaten at The Pie in a couple years because I wanted to give some time and then give them another chance. Maybe it's because I lived in Chicago and there is nothing like a Chicago Style Pizza, but I have to say that I'm not a fan of The Pie. Every time I eat there I have nothing but problems trying to keep the cheese and toppings on top of the crust. It never fails to slide off onto the table as I grab a piece and move it to my plate. Not a fan of the "price/service" ratio. The pizza is expensive AND you have to pick up your own pizza, bread, drinks, etc. If you're a fan of writing on the wall (which is also a knock-off of Gino's East) you'll like The Pie. I don't!

    (2)
  • Tracee W.

Good pizza. Love the calzones/zappies! The cheese bread is acceptable as long as you don't get the cheddar. Excellent rootbeer. They are slow and you need to double check your order. The prices are high. It's weirdly dark.

Not as good as the original in downtown in Salt Lake, but all you really lose is atmosphere. Food still tastes amazing and you can still die and go to heaven with their cinnamon sticks!

Ordered the wise guy zappi. Was absolutely delicious! Delivered right to my hotel door. Pretty fast and still hot. Nicely wrapped and packaged too. Not from SLC area but was a great first experience with food here!

This one is sort of a "lite" version of the one by the U and maybe even the location of both haunts in Ogden (former and current) and I think a lot of the ambiance is gone because this place is both too new and too reminiscent of a brewpub. Sure, banging back a pepperoni and green olive with a pitcher of suds, perhaps Cutthroat or the famed Riksha or a nice Nut Brown Ale, is a very pleasant diversion and a nice way to spend some time, but it's hard to get the comfort and warm embrace of the other locations.Atmosphere is a bit part of charm and this place comes up short there. The pizza, as noted, is somewhat inferior to both up by the U and Ogden (which itself is a touch inferior to both the locations by the U), but it's by no means a bad pie and definitely the best in the area. Honestly, this location confuses me a bit, since I don't see either a burning need for it or a higher level school for it to be by (and that's a very cool motif the chain had going at one time), but the few times I've been there, it's been close enough within reason for me to enjoy it. Definitely not a destination spot, but if I was in the area and had a hankerin' only The Pie can fill, this would do nicely.

If there is a place that I am craving for pizza, it is the Pie Pizzeria. The location downtown is a bit more hipster as it is underground while the location in South Jordan has balcony/upperstairs where you can sit down. Its your preference but the food is absolutely delicious. Pizza pull-apart: breadsticks a little bit on the dull side but next time I would order the chedda pull apart Garlic bread: freshly made and full of garlic-ness Holy Shiitake Pie: Holy S--- is right, this pizza was amazeballs, I love chicken on pizza and this pizza was blended very well. I loved the pesto, herbs, cheese was perfect, not too oily and the feeling of satisfied consuming you when you step away from the meal. What else can you ask for a meal. And, the humbling service keeps you coming back.

who doesn't love the pie? friendly service and amazing food! on a rainy day i decided i was craving pizza so ordered some from the pie to go. we got a mountain of meat and the gluten free chicken bacon ranch. it was ready to go in about 20 minutes and as always, it was amazing. i love their gluten free crust since it is so flavorful. lots of herbs baked in and you can tell. i usually hate crust and will dip it in a butter and garlic salt mixture, but with the pie's gluten free crust you don't need to.

I almost gave The Pie a 3 star rating because we really haven't enjoyed it the last couple of times we come here but overall I still think it's a 4 star place. Pizza is everywhere and even though The Pie doesn't have the best pizza around it's still a great place to come. There are not many sit down pizzeria's around anymore and The Pie provides an atmosphere that is very unique. Bring a metallic type of marker and prepare to sit back and enjoy the music, live entertainment, sports on the TVs or look at all of the writing customer have put on the walls and then make your mark. The garlic cheese bread is a great appetizer and the variety Coke machine downstairs is a must have for any restaurant these days. The service is good, the place is clean and overall you will probably enjoy yourself. The prices are high so be aware before you come in, this isn't a cheap pizza place.

What can i say about the Pie? Its a really darn good pizzeria. I have always gone to the original location in the basement of a drug store across the street from the University of Utah and so i was a bit skeptical at first about how this one would fare out. It was a nice surprise to see how the taste and quality of the pizza hasn't changed but also the vibe of the restaurant was still intact. Instead of having to go downstairs, this place has and upstairs. What a change!!! They also have a patio seating, which is great in the summer. My top recommendation is the Chicken Ranch. My mouth drools just thinking about, must be close to dinner time. Another good fiture is the sizes avaliable at this place. Theres no place I have seen that offers a 23" pizza. That thing is massive!!! FYI, go to the PIE!!!

Been to this location and the one by the U once each and both times have liked the experience. The atmosphere is fun and the food has a novel taste to it. My wife loves the cheese bread with the ranch and marinara sauces.

Overall The Pie has some great qualities, but there are some major drawbacks. First the staff that helped us didn't know the menu or how to input our food selection into the computer, someone else had to come help. Then half of our meal came out before the other half. The zappi was very doughy on the inside and was missing one of the main ingredients, but what was included did taste good. Also the sandwich was small, but tasted good. I spoke with the manager and my feedback was taken very well and the manager made us a free pizza, which I really appreciated. It was delicious but a little greasy. Next time we'll just have to stick with pizza. We will give it another try sometime and hopefully my rating will be able to change.

We are vegan, and the Pie recently added several vegan options to their menu. You've got to try the Vegan Extreme Veggie, the Vegan BBQ Beef and the Vegan Pullaparts. They are the best! We ask them to go light on the vegan cheese topping, sometimes there's a little much.

Not sure why this Pie location is lower than salt lake. I've eaten at both and love both. The service has always been fast and friendly. Plus they have a coca cola machine there. It has about 50 different types of soda and what not. On to the pizza. Best in Utah I've had hands down. In fact, it's one of the best ice ever had. I'm no pizza snob but I've had New York pizza and Chicago and this is right up there with Chicago (new York is overrated). The meat on their pizza is super fresh it seems. It's big ol slices of quality pepperoni and sausages. The salami on the Meat Mound is fantastic. So, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good pizza. You'll shell out like 22 bucks for a large but it's a to. Of pizza and it's so good so it's well worth it.

Really good pizza! If you like big hearty pizzas this is my favorite in Utah. The pizzas are loaded with toppings and they never disappoint.

  • Susan B.

The pizza was great, we enjoyed a half Greek veggie, half combo. Spicy toppings, great sauce, thick crust cooked perfectly. Very filling. Next time maybe a thin crust, just because the toppings are so good. Now the downside: you can have a bottle of beer but no glass. (Weird Utah law?) It was so noisy in there! You couldn't hear when ordering, or when they called that your pizza was done. I think the intercom system wasn't working well. The salad-plain but fresh and crisp with a chintzy amount of dressing in a plastic cup. Overall, I'd love to come back-at a less busy time.

Great pizza with a variety to choose from. The atmosphere is fun because you can autograph the bricks. Just try and find one that has space on it. The music selection is marginal and loud. I'd rather have a conversation than listen to crap rock. Just so you know I'm not an old man telling kids to get off my lawn just a DJ with taste. The real reason for my 2 star review is the service is highly lacking. They have the most dim people working the registers. If they make a mistake on your order good luck getting it rectified. Also they need more than two people working up front during the rush of lunch. I may change my review when management gets more competent people working the registers. I could be missing the point. Maybe they hired crappy employees to match the music. It could be a theme. If you get pizza here. Get it to go

The Pie has not become a Utah legend by accident. This has got to be the best traditional American pizza you can find in the state. Fantastic crust, lots of cheese, generous toppings... this is the very definition of what great pizza ought to be. I usually order more than I can eat so there will be plenty of left overs to take home for later. The atmosphere is similar to their downtown location (though this one is above ground)--kinda dark, brick walls covered in graffiti, etc. Each table has one of those elevated wire trays to set your pizza on, which frees up more real estate for your plates, drinks, etc. Oh, and they get bonus points for having a Freestyle Coca-Cola machine. I should come here much more often than I do. I love this place, and it is certainly worth the drive.

  • Kelie H.

If you like thick crust and enormous gobs of gooey greasy cheese, topped with slabs of meat, this is your pizza joint. it's not really my kind of pizza, but it's good every once in awhile. We usually come here for family birthday dinners and whatnot and the upstairs booths are awesome if you can score a couple. They are huuuuge! But beware, this place is absolutely packed on weekends.

  • Derick M.

Went here a few days ago for lunch with coworkers. The service is not quite on par and are lacking an enthusiastic outlook. I ordered the pizza by the slice the pizza was bland and the cheese had the consistency of rubber. The dough was really tough and over all did not taste like I remember when I have been to the one downtown, I may need to try it again and just order a whole pizza that may come out more fresh.

This is one of our go to pizza places. We are in Herriman, but it is worth the drive for us to go pick it up. We always get their pepperoni pizza and pizza pull apart without cheese (breadsticks). The pizza is very thick and very filling. We recently tried their extreme veggie pizza, it was divine! You also must try their ranch dressing, it is the best ranch ever! We fight over it in our house so we always buy extra ranch. I wish I could buy it by the container to keep on hand in our fridge.......

Oh where to start. The pizza is FANTASTIC. Also, the cheesy pull-apart! Get it! They do carry a few beers here. Oh, and they deliver! When you have a craving for some GOOD pizza and don't feel like going out, the delivery is a God-send. RIght now, our favorite is the Thai-pie pizza, but the wise-guy is a very close second. Both are fantastic, go try them! They also have one of those coke machines where you can choose from dozens of different flavors and what-not, which is cool, but really sucks when there are a group of kids huddled around the front of the machine and each kid has to try 14 different flavors before deciding on one. Just wait at the table till there are no kids around before going to refill your drink ;)

This our 3rd time at The Pie on Redwood Rd. Each time it seems to get better. The crust is light but crispy in the bottom. We got the Mountain of Meat. Lots of toppings and cheese, and delicious! The wife eats gluten-free and found their crust to be flavorful. 5 stars from this family!

I ordered the Wise Guy calzone and....basically half of it was filled with cream cheese, the other half was filled with mozzerela. It was not good. I also got an order of the spicy teriyaki wings and was unimpressed - they were fatty and soggy. After I was finished eating I get a knock on my door and it was the delivery gal who brought me a mangled/half open box of garlic bread which apparently she forgot to give me. It looked like it had been rolling around on the floor of her car and stepped on. I passed and gave it back to her. Needless to say I would not order food from here again.

Others mentioned greasy, and I have to agree. The Pie was pretty unremarkable. Greasy pizza with toppings that seemed a little sparse and less than fresh. We decided to box most when the live band came out, only because their friends and family swarmed the patio (so much so that we had to ask people to move so we could reach the door back in to exit. I know I've heard people go on and on about this place, but I don't get it. I don't think grease is a topping...

As a New York native I am picky about my pizza. So when I find a good place, I become a loyal fan. The Pie is one of those places. My family and I almost always order the same thing. The super large ( 16 inch) cheese pie. There are a few " The Pie " in the Salt Lake Area. The one I visit is in South Jordan off Redwood. It is almost always busy after 5PM. Many families with kids in tow show up. There is an outdoor area with a fire pit with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. The music is often very good. The pizza itself is excellent. NY Style, not Chicago or flat type pizza. They serve beer and they have one of those soda machines that serves 100 different type of soda flavors. The kids always seem to love that soda machine but if you are just wanting a coke quickly to get to your seat, go to the machine to the right of it which will be much faster. They also have an upstairs with some large tables. If you have a family of 8, you will all be able to sit at the same table upstairs. One word of caution: Pepperoni pizza, we ordered it once here, never again. The pepperoni is not placed on the top of the cheese, instead it is buried in the middle of the pizza, we didn't like it. But if you want a nice regular cheese slice, one that will put you into a food coma, one that needs two hands to lift it to your mouth to eat because it is so heavy and filled with cheese, this is the place.

Pizza is the best you can get in Utah. They use quality ingredients, have great service, great atmosphere and a large choice of beer and soda. Nothing like a pizza and a picture of Guiness. Keep up the good work.

There are two types of pizza in the world: "normal" pizza -- of the kind you can get at Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, etc -- and "fancy" pizza -- thin crusts, cured Italian meats, and creative cheeses. The Pie is in the "normal" camp, and it's pretty much the perfection of normal pizza. So much cheese, so much meats, so much crust, so amazingly deliciousness.

Overrated. The pizza was okay but I don't see what the fuss is all about. The service was good but the food was barely average.

I've only ever eaten pizza here and always carry out, so I can't comment on the other menu items or the dine-in experience. That said, it's my favorite pizza in SLC. I like a lot of cheese and they don't disappoint, and the toppings taste of freshness, flavor, and quality.

  • Jean W.

I may be flogged by the locals for this one, and I'm okay with that. I'm tough, and I can take it. I'll be honest - I'm a pizza snob. There, I said it. I love rustic Italian pizza, with savory flavors from fresh veggies and meats, and sauce which compliments it all. I have not found this to be true for this location of The Pie, unfortunately. I'm a big fan of the University location, and therefore greatly looked forward to this shop opening up closer to home. Tried it for take-out almost immediately, and was disappointed in the quality of the pizza itself - just not the same as University. Greasy, ingredients which were far below fresh, and tasteless rubbery crust. Huh? Is this The Pie?? We gave it another shot after a few months thinking they would have worked out the bugs. This time, we tried dine-in, and decided on the Zappis. Not being a fan of mozzerella, and remembering that it's used in the Zappis, I specifically asked if I could get a different cheese in much lighter quantities with my Zappi. Cash Register Girl assured me I could, and I ordered EASY Jack cheese as my replacement. The Zappis arrived at our table, and we dug in. Immediately the overwhelming amount of cheese overflowed onto my plate, and ... it was Mozzerella. (I know! I'm a huge lifelong fan of cheese, and should have been okay with it...but, not so much...) I confirmed this with the waitress, to whom I also lodged my complaint. She looked at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears, and said that they don't even offer Jack cheese as a replacement. Ooookay. Hubby's was also so cheese-ridden he couldn't eat it. We left 9/10's of it on our plates, and left. One positive I'll mention: this location seems to have tried to recreate the dark, basement-y environment of the University shop, and although completely different, it's reminiscent. Great fun for teenage groups, and very casual and laid-back. Since then, we've not gone back for any reason, but have had the occasion to partake of this location's Pie a few times at friends' houses when they've ordered it. Still greasy, still way too much Mozzerella. They may as well throw all of their toppings in a blender and spread them on like paste, because that's exactly how it tastes to me. Sorry, S.J. Pie fans...but this is not pizza. At least not pizza I'm willing to pay for any longer. I also no longer agree with the statement "bad pizza is better than no pizza."

The The Pie Pizzeria in South Jordan is a spacious pizza restaurant with plenty of space to hang out with friends or family, eat pizza, and enjoy a cold drink. It's just too bad I don't like their pizza very much... frankly its gross! Pizza from the Pie is INCREDIBLY greasy and I just don't like it.

Hands down the best pizza in Utah. And if you dare go there and don't get the cheese-pull-aparts then shame on you.

The Pie is one of the best Pizzerias around, chances are you've been to the one by the U and you want to know if this one is as good. Yes it is. The Pizza is great, same taste, same everything; even down to having so much cheese and toppings you're afraid of suffocating. It's a bit greasy but keep in mind how much cheese and pepperoni is packed on there. I've seen more grease on a Papa Murphys pizza and they only got half the amount of toppings. The atmosphere is not quite the same as being 300ft from the University of Utah but it's as close as you'll get to a college hangout out here in suburbia; and much better than other Pizza joints. This is obviously a newly built location and it's really nice. Best thing for me is it's within range of work for a quick lunch. And they serve Pizza by the slice so wait times are very short. Besides if you've had The Pie you know that 1 or two pieces are enough to fill most people up. $7.00 = 1 slice pepperoni, 2 piece cheese bread, 1 bottomless drink (Notice only real american pizzerias have these plastic tumblers?) All within a 30 minute lunch break!!! Hard thing is fighting the urge to have a beer with my Pizza before heading back to work... Hello customer service incident!

The order could not be aken right. I understand things being busy on a Saturday night but 30 minutes for salads with a bowl full of water is not very high on service or standards. The pzza was 45 minutes after order. The sundried tomatoes were ard and chewy. There is no way this is the best pizza in Utah...

Love the buffalo chicken pizza. It's greasy and it's rad!

Lots of dough and lots of cheese. I ordered the thin crust for a change and I thought they made an honest mistake; but no, even their thin crust has a substantial chewy crust. Portions are good, prices are reasonable, and they have a few beers as well. Good, but not great pizza. Very adult blue collar vibe at this location on our weeknight visit.

The pizza here is fine. It's just fine, though. Not the best in town, or even close to it. Three stars almost feels a bit generous, but it's not a two star place (it gets a passing grade, in other words). It's been a while since I've eaten at the Salt Lake location by the U, but there isn't a whole lot of difference in taste and quality from what I recall. I'd probably give it a higher rating, though, largely for the atmosphere and experience. This one tries to replicate it, but it comes off phony and feels like a large chain. That location is a local, sentimental favorite because it's organic. And that's not bad, because your experience eating anywhere is more than just whether you like the food. But this place doesn't have that at all, and it still has just OK pizza.

One of my favorite pizza joints in town. The pizzas are loaded with cheese and fresh ingredients. For lunch you can go there and get a reasonable slice. The place just has a good vibe. Great pizza!

Two words... CHEESY BREAD. Think of a cheese pizza without the sauce with ooey gooey cheese. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Order extra ranch dressing to dunk the bread in. The pizzas are so good. Lots of fresh toppings and crunchy crust.

Best pie in Utah. I tried their version of a Calzone the other night and it filled me up for 2 meals. Good vibe for a date or friends, when it's not too crowded. I prefer the downtown location, but this spot is also good for families.

Great pizza. Might be greasy for some peoples liking, but really don't care what others think, it's some of the best pizza around. Calzones, or as they call them, zappas are fantastic.

The Pie is always great! I have hit up the big 'local' pizzerias in major cities from LA to Vegas, Boise, Denver, New York & many places in between, and none can top The Pie! The Cheese Pull Aparts are great & their new Cinna Sticks are to die for! Great atmosphere, perfect place to go with friends.

I just don't think pizza can get better than this. The way a pizza was meant to be!! Also a cool atmosphere to hang out in, bring your sharpies-you are allowed to write on the walls, or ceiling! It can get a little loud in there when its busy but super fun.
